The City Council met Wednesday evening with a range of items to discuss. The agenda was full, covering many ongoing projects in the city. The approval of the Sister City agreement with the City of Matamoros was the highlight of the evening.
The council welcomed Reynaldo Del Toro, who was in attendance to represent Mayor of Matamoros Leticia Salazar. After unanimous approval by the council, the City of South Padre Island adopted a resolution to recognize the City of Matamoros, Tamaulipas as a Sister City to foster international business and provide for open and frequent exchange of information and ideas.
